Submitted by one of our original Sofa Project enthusiasts, Beth Bylander Butler of New Orleans. Beth spotted this bygone beauty in the Bywater District, which is in the Ninth Ward, the area hit hardest by flooding after Hurricane Katrina.
We sense in this time-battered and despoiled sofa a significant past and we wish time had honored it as well. Do we hear a sweet lament from our musical silhouette at the left? Have the saints gone marching in?
Thank you, Beth, for another evocative contribution to The Sofa Project.
Keep the photos marching in by emailing them to wordsense1@att.net.
