THE SOFA PROJECT is a photographic chronicle of the practice of abandoning unwanted furniture on the curb in hopes that someone hauls it away. Anytime you see a cast-aside sofa, shoot a photo and send it our way. Tell us its story, share your thoughts about its undignified demise.

We love stories, songs and videos about sofas, too, so don’t be shy about sharing those with us.

Email photos to wordsense1@att.net. Add a note saying when and where you took the photo as well as any other details you’d like to include (such as how long it sat in the rain or if the neighbor’s dog marked it as his).

Remember, every piece of abandoned furniture deserves a place in the sun. This is it.
